FE UMC Economic Festival Encourages Student Creativity and Strengthens Local MSMEs
The Faculty of Economics, Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon (FE UMC) is holding the 2023 Economic Festival, presenting various creative and educational activities, ranging from seminars, MSME assistance workshops, student competitions, bazaars, to art performances. Carrying the theme “Building the Creativity of Young Souls”, this activity serves as a platform to enhance student capacity while also supporting community economic development.
UMC Rector, Arif Nurudin MT, appreciated the initiative of FE UMC, which is considered capable of strengthening the achievement of the university's key performance indicators. According to him, the activity not only provided the latest insights for the academic community but also became a tangible step in building student awareness of the business world.
One of the main focuses of the Economic Festival is assistance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Cirebon region. Arif believes that MSMEs play a significant role in supporting the national economy, therefore students need to understand and be involved in the development of this sector.
He hopes that FE UMC graduates will not only be oriented towards becoming employees but will also be able to create jobs through an entrepreneurial spirit. According to him, students should be encouraged to become young entrepreneurs, business creators, and creative industry players who can face the challenges of the digital era.
The Dean of FE UMC, Dr. Asep Gunawan, stated that success at a young age requires hard work, perseverance, creativity, and prayer. Through this Economics Festival, his faculty aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students so they can create business opportunities after completing their education.
In addition to providing space for the development of academic and business abilities, this activity also serves as a means for students to channel their creativity through various competitions and art performances. FE UMC hopes that the program can produce innovative, independent young generations who are capable of contributing to Indonesia's economic growth.
