UMC Sports Science Students Undergo Internship Observation at PPOPM Bogor Regency

As many as 35 students from the Undergraduate Program in Sports Science at the Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon (UMC) participated in the activity Internship Observation I which was held at the Youth and Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPOPM) of Bogor Regency on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. This activity is part of the implementation of a field experience-based curriculum for fifth-semester students.

Head of the Undergraduate Sports Science Study Program at UMC, Yayan Wardiyanto, M.Pd., explaining that the activity is designed to strengthen the link between theoretical learning on campus and practical application in the workplace, particularly in the field of sports.

In the observation activities, students had the opportunity to directly learn about the process of developing elite sports, the management system of student athlete development institutions, and the management of sports facilities and infrastructure implemented at the PPOPM of Bogor Regency.

The implementation of the activity is also accompanied by a supervising lecturer as part of academic responsibility to ensure the achievement of student competencies and learning outcomes in accordance with the established curriculum.

According to Yayan, this activity aims to provide students with an initial overview of the working world while also strengthening their understanding of professionalism in the sports field. Through this experience, students are expected to be able to connect academic concepts with real-world practice more fully and comprehensively.

The Bogor Regency PPOPM welcomes the presence of UMC students and appreciates the implementation of the observation activities. This collaboration is expected to be the beginning of strengthening institutional relations between UMC and PPOPM, especially in the development of education, research, and the training of athletic achievement.

Through the activities of this first Internship Observation, Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon reaffirms its commitment to providing higher education that is applicable, relevant to the needs of the working world, and oriented towards producing superior human resources in sports.
