The Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) S1 at Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon (UMC) has once again achieved a proud academic accomplishment with the emergence of a new doctor. Dianasari, a PGSD lecturer and also an instructor in the UMC Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) from Suranenggala, Cirebon Regency, officially earned her doctoral degree and was conferred the title Dr. Dianasari, M.Pd on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

The doctoral promotion trial was held solemnly under the leadership of the Trial Chairperson, Vice Dean II of FKIP UMC, Dr. Supriyadi, M.Pd. In the rigorous and scientific academic process, Dianasari was accompanied by a team of promoters and examiners consisting of nationally reputable academics. The main promoter was Prof. Dr. H. Bunyamin Maftuh, M.Pd., M.A., with Co-Promoter Prof. Dr. Hj. Ernawulan Syaodih, M.Pd., and Promoter Member Prof. Dr. H. Sapriya, M.A. The internal examiner was Prof. Dr. Ilfiandra, M.Pd., and the external examiner was Prof. Dr. Wuri Wuryandani, M.Pd.

The atmosphere of the trial was serious yet deeply emotional, reflecting the long academic journey undertaken with high perseverance and dedication.

On this occasion, the Vice Rector I of UMC, Dr. Badawi, stated that the Rector of UMC, Arif Nurudin, M.T., actually wished to attend in person, but could not do so due to other commitments. He emphasized that achieving a doctoral degree is not the end of the journey, but rather the beginning of a greater intellectual responsibility to make a tangible contribution to society.

UMC Vice Rector III, Dr. Bagus Nurul Iman, also gave his appreciation and expressed hope that this achievement could strengthen academic contributions within the three pillars of higher education. According to him, UMC, which is striving to become a superior campus, needs doctoral lecturers who are not only strong in theory but also have a practical impact.

The Dean of FKIP UMC, Dr. Hj. Fikriyah, expressed pride and emotion over Dianasari's struggle. She considers Dianasari a tough woman capable of balancing her role as a mother of two children with her academic pursuits. Her struggle is seen as proof that limitations are not barriers to achieving higher education.

The Head of PPG UMC, Dr. Ikariya Sugesti, hopes that the presence of this new doctor can strengthen the educational transformation within the PPG environment, particularly in improving the quality of learning and the professionalism of prospective teachers.

Meanwhile, the Head of PGSD UMC, Dr. Widia Nur Jannah, described Dianasari as an inspirational figure who not only fought for herself but also for her family, including her two children and siblings. Her journey serves as a role model for perseverance and sacrifice in achieving higher education.

Associate Prof. Nurkholis emphasized that the results of the dissertation are expected not to remain in the academic realm, but to be practically implemented and provide direct benefits to the wider community.
